ERWIN SIKOWITZ

Source: VICTORiOUS   Pronouns: he/him  Age: 34

Erwin Sikowitz is an acting teacher at Hollywood Arts High School, a performing arts magnet school in Los Angeles. Best known for his idiosyncratic teaching style and his equally idiosyncratic dress sense and personality, Sikowitz is much beloved by his students, and in turn takes equal interest in their lives and feelings. He loves being a teacher, is very passionate about acting, and writes his own plays, which his students often star in. Erwin has a colorful personal life. Believing that coconut milk gives him “visions” he usually has one on hand, although, to be blunt, he demonstrably also does a lot of drugs. His relationship with law enforcement is clearly iffy, he has large gaps in his memory, and his grasp of reality tends to vary from day to day. Regardless of his flair for the eccentric, he always has his students’ best interests at heart and has risked his own neck for them on numerous occasions. He is a free-spirited hippie who always expresses himself even when people think he’s silly (or mentally unstable).

SELF-INSERT: ARTIE COLLINS

Artie Collins is a fellow teacher at Hollywood Arts, whose subjects include 3D animation, 3D modeling, character design and film studies. He's one of those teachers who doesn't care to be called Mr. Collins and insistently goes by just "Artie". Although somewhat reticent and not that easy to get to know, he will talk your ear off about movies and animation once you get him to open up. His dry sense of humor and probable autism cause him to worry about being rude on accident, which he then overcompensates for by being very polite. On the surface, he's Sikowitz's direct antipode - he dresses mostly in black, carries himself in quite a buttoned-down way and teaches most of his classes in the computer lab (Sikowitz being a known technophobe). But they actually have more commonalities than they have differences, both being vegan-ish, leftie types with quirky senses of taste. Artie is dating Sikowitz on the down-low, given the school's policy about relationships amongst the faculty. (Ooh, secrets.)
